Drive Products

Acheson, AB

The 93,000sq ft multi-use headquarters comprised of a 30,000sq ft, two story office space, showroom and parts storage, and a 63,000sq ft shop with 10 – 140ft long service bays, parts storage, oil storage and overhead cranes.

The design seamlessly integrated four distinct building envelopes to meet the needs of each space. The office and showroom feature a large curved curtain wall, architectural metal panels and metal cladding with the shop using single skin metal cladding and precast concrete walls.

Home Building Centre

Osoyoos, BC

Outgrowing their location on Main Street, Home Hardware required a new larger Building Centre to service Osoyoos and the surrounding area. Johnston Builders was retained as the Design-Builder for the new 22,000 sq.ft store.

Being located next to an airport, the new store’s height was sensitive. The team re-positioned the building’s setback and utilized a flat roof design with a shallow, prefabricated steel structure to maximize the interior ceiling height.

Lake Louise Rink

Lake Louise, AB

Nestled at the base of the majestic Canadian Rockies, locals and tourists can enjoy this outdoor air ice skating rink in Lake Louise, AB.

The steel structure protects the ice surface from the heavy snow falls that accumulates each year.  The design was unique in that there are no 90 degree corners on the structure, following the shape of the ice surface.
